We only had one late night snack in the deli, and for what it was, it was fine. How much you win or lose at the casino has nothing to do with the quality of the hotel. However, we did not lack for choices and they did have some games I have not seen in other places, even if older. It is true that this casino does not have as many of the newest games as other casinos in Michigan. The casino staff said 'hello' and 'excuse me' and seemed generally pleasant. The Casino is a different environment and I do not think it should be compared to the hotel for a hotel review on is smelly with cigarette smoke, congested, and loud. We do not need a microwave but if there are are things you would like to have in your room, perhaps they should be requested when you reserve the room.you may need to use the telephone for this, not the internet. Our room had a larger-than-usual safe and a refrigerator. I did opt to reserve the room with $50 cash rather than credit card (plus that gave me money to not spend in the casino).

Check-in was simple and all the staff we encountered were nice. The hotel was excellent with clean public spaces, clean rooms, and a well-located small shop and restaurant/lounge. My husband and I stayed at the Soaring Eagle Hotel on Saturday, August 10th because we were attending a concert there. (By the way, the floor was serviced by three elevators making for short wait times each time we used them.) It quickly became 'white noise' and so wasn't too irritating, but we'll probably ask for a room further from the elevators next time. The only minor complaint that either of us had was that you could EASILY hear the elevators running up and down for most of the night. The room-darkening shade worked great, especially considering we were facing the east - the morning sunrise was barely noticeable. The window was able to be opened a bit if we had chosen to do so, but the AC cycled perfectly so there was no need. The bathroom had plenty of counter space to allow more than one person to get ready at the same time, and high quality soaps, shampoo and conditioner were supplied.
