There were about 8 blackjack tables open, two of which were $15, the rest $25-$100. I believe there were 5 craps tables open, one of which was $10. I didn't get offered a drink, but we were at the nickel slots- and for not very long- so I'm not really surprised. The staff I spoke to were helpful and friendly.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased and I'll probably go back. We did a few laps of the pit and played some slots since we didn't have enough time to really get into it. Saturday 1/8/11, arrived about 4:00 PM and stayed for about an hour. I was a little apprehensive after reading all the bad reviews here, but I was visiting an old friend in Frederick and we decided to make a quick trip to check it out. Worth the trip, even if you got turned off the 1st time around. Either way, it seems to have more of an Atlantic City feel now, but with 3 hours less driving each way. All in all, they seem to have their staffing issues fixed, and I think that a lot of the crappiest players have either lost interest in coming or have lost their gambling money. You have to try the desserts and bbq spare ribs! But I digress. They still don't have a comp system that I can see (there are 0 points on my card, even though I always play $100 per hand.the dealer today told me that 'The state taxes us heavily, so they are cutting back on the budget'), but one pit boss was nice enough to comp me a buffet anyway today - and the. And there are no more ugly construction barriers at every turn, so it has a nice open feel these days. The wait for cashing out is now more like 5-10 minutes instead of 30-40. The dealers have their act together, I can now immediately find a spot at a high stakes table, and they usually have 3-4 cashiers running at a given time. I am pleased to say that Charlestown has taken care of all of these issues.

Some of the worst aspects 6 months ago were 1) the slow, incompetent dealers, 2) the complete lack of open tables at any hour, and 3) the horrendous wait for the cashier line. After having gone back twice in the last month, I have to drastically change my tone. I previously wrote 'An unbiased, honest review of CTR&S' in July of 2010, giving this casino 2 stars.
